What to Expect

The 2 million hectare Kruger Park is home to 151 mammal species, 520 bird species and more than 2000 plant species. The park is ± 360km from south to north and ± 60km from east to west. The park has 12 main rest camps, 9 smaller camps, 3 private bush lodges and 11 luxury lodges within concession areas. All main rest camps have shops for any need of supplies, beverages and souvenirs. Malaria: Although the Kruger Park falls within a malaria area, international tourists are surprised to see that the area is not plagued by mosquitoes. Precaution should be taken with insect repellants and in terms of anti-malaria medication, a doctor will advise and prescribe. Each day is different in the bush as animals roam wild and free and you never know when you might get a pride of lions sleeping under a tree or a leopard crossing the road. Traffic jams in the Kruger Park are usually caused by its residents, like a herd of elephants! A safari consists of a drive on an elevated 9-seater open vehicle, within the Kruger National Park. A highly skilled and experienced guide will accompany guests, informing them about the game (wild animals) they see and their habitat and behaviour in the bush. A walking safari consists of a short drive on the open vehicle to an area where guests will alight from the vehicle and experience the bush on foot, accompanied by two armed guides. The guides will ensure that all guests adhere to safety rules and stay safe and comfortable during the safari. A safari is not dangerous when all rules are adhered to. In fact, safaris are memorable experiences which will expose you to a world known as the best place on earth, the Kruger National Park. You will never leave this place untouched! It's a short drive from your booked accommodation in Marloth Park and surrounding areas to the Crocodile Bridge gate where we usually start our safaris.
